Amarr opener logic board repair in Long Beach typically runs $120 to $320 installed, depending on whether the board needs reconditioning or full replacement. We carry Amarr-compatible logic boards on our trucks and can usually complete the swap in under an hour the same day we arrive. Most Long Beach homeowners discover this failure when the opener stops responding to remotes, the wall button works only intermittently, or the motor runs but the door won’t move.
The logic board is the brain inside your Amarr opener’s motor housing. It processes signals from your remotes and wall buttons, controls motor direction, and manages safety sensor inputs. When it fails, the opener either goes dead entirely or behaves erratically. Salt air from the Long Beach harbor accelerates corrosion on these boards, which is why we see more logic board failures in Naples and Belmont Shore than in inland neighborhoods like Bixby Knolls.
Which Amarr Models This Applies To
Amarr openers are manufactured under private label agreements, but the logic boards inside map to familiar platform families. The Lincoln series, the Heritage series, and most models installed on Amarr Stratford and Classica doors after 2012 use boards compatible with the current Amarr replacement parts catalog. Older Amarr units, particularly those installed before 2008, often use boards that are no longer manufactured, and those jobs require a compatible retrofit board rather than an exact OEM match.
To identify your board, look at the white label on the bottom of the motor housing. It lists a part number that starts with “AM” or “041” depending on era. The board itself measures roughly 4 by 6 inches and mounts inside the housing behind the light lens. If the label is faded or missing, a photo of the board’s relay configuration is usually enough for us to identify it. Amarr boards are not interchangeable with LiftMaster or Genie boards, even when the opener housings look similar, because the wiring harnesses and capacitor ratings differ between manufacturers.
For OEM boards: Amarr’s factory replacement carries the same part number as the original and preserves any remaining manufacturer warranty. For aftermarket equivalents: the pricing lands roughly 20 to 30 percent lower, and the boards ship from domestic suppliers with their own one-year warranty. Both paths work. We’ll quote both options and let you decide before any work begins.

Signs Your Amarr Opener Logic Board Is Failing
The logic board rarely fails all at once. It usually dies in stages, and knowing what each symptom points to saves you from replacing parts you don’t need. Here’s what we see on Amarr openers in Long Beach:
- Remote and wall button both dead, but opener has power. This is the classic full board failure. The power supply still feeds the motor, but the board isn’t sending any commands. A humming sound with no movement points here.
- Opener works at random, then stops for hours. Thermal expansion on a cracked solder joint. Heat from the motor causes the board to flex, breaking an already-failed connection. It cools, reconnects, and works again temporarily. This is common in hot Long Beach garages during summer months.
- Door reverses for no reason, even with clean sensors. The board’s logic circuit misreads resistance from the motor and falsely triggers the auto-reverse. In Long Beach homes where garage doors face west and catch afternoon heat, sensor wiring and board relays degrade together.
- Remote stops working, wall button still functions. The receiver module on the board has failed. On Amarr units, the receiver is integrated into the logic board, so this means board replacement rather than a separate receiver part.
- Burning smell or visible scorching on the board. Capacitor failure or a shorted relay. If you see this, unplug the opener and stop using it until it’s serviced. A shorted board can damage the motor windings if left powered.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Here’s the pricing for Amarr logic board work in Long Beach, and it’s the same range we quote on the phone before we ever see the job:
- Board diagnosis and test: $65 to $95, credited toward repair if we proceed
- Logic board replacement, aftermarket equivalent: $145 to $220 installed
- Logic board replacement, Amarr OEM: $200 to $320 installed
- Board replacement plus new remote programming: Add $35 to $55
Every price includes the part, labor, removal of the old board, installation, testing, and reprogramming of all your existing remotes and wall buttons. The price is written down and approved by you before any work starts. If you approve the job and the invoice comes in a dollar higher, that’s our mistake, not your bill. Every Amarr logic board replacement we do in Long Beach carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If the board fails within a year, we return and replace it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
There’s a wiring harness inside the opener housing that carries 120 volts even when the opener is unplugged if the capacitor hasn’t discharged. Given that the capacitor in an Amarr opener can hold a charge for several minutes after power is disconnected, opening the housing without discharging it is genuinely dangerous. We’ve seen homeowners receive shocks from opener capacitors that made their arm tingle for hours. That’s the reason we tell people plainly: this is not a spring job, but it’s also not a light bulb swap.
What you can safely check before calling: confirm the opener has power at the outlet, check that the wall button isn’t stuck, and verify the safety sensor lenses are clean and aligned. If those check out and the opener still won’t respond, the logic board is the likely culprit. Call us at (562) 337-3993 and describe what the opener is doing. Wade Mercer put it best: “Tell me what it’s doing, I’ll tell you what it costs – no guesswork, no runaround.”
FAQs
Most Amarr logic boards last 8 to 12 years in Long Beach’s climate. Homes closer to the water, especially in Alamitos Beach and the Peninsula, tend to lose boards closer to the 8-year mark because salt air corrodes the board’s exposed contacts faster than inland air does. If your opener is past 10 years old, a board failure often signals it’s time to evaluate whether a full opener replacement makes more financial sense than repairing an aging unit.
Sometimes. When the failure is a swollen capacitor or a cracked solder joint, a component-level repair is possible and usually runs $90 to $140. However, in our experience, Amarr boards that have failed once tend to fail again within 18 months when repaired this way. We’ll tell you honestly which route we’d take on our own garage door. Call (562) 337-3993 and we’ll walk you through what we’re seeing.
Most Amarr logic board replacements take 45 to 75 minutes from start to finish. The bulk of that time is programming your existing remotes and confirming the safety sensors work correctly with the new board. We complete jobs same-day in Long Beach, and since a live person answers our phone 24 hours a day, you won’t sit on hold to schedule it.
Yes. Our trucks carry Amarr-compatible logic boards for the most common opener series, along with compatible boards for LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Genie openers. For older Amarr units that need a retrofit board, we’ll have it in hand within one to two business days and schedule the install at a time that works for you. Estimates are always free, and the price is in writing before we start.
